Awesome Thank You Letter

I recently worked at The Petty Pool Trust. It's a collage for young adults, with learning disabilities. I received this awesome thank you letter today. Every face that I drew is on the letter. It bought a tear to my eye, and put a big smile on my face. I didn't charge a fee. I wanted to give something back to the community. This letter is better than any fee.

I had a good day at Alton Towers Scarefest yesterday. It should also be good until the end of the season.As we`re looking at 20,000 people on the park, each day for Scarefest. Happy Days! Looks like I`ll have to buy more markers.

The Photo of this sign was taken outside a shop In Staffordshire. I think the words say it all. How many times have we looked to find a bargain, or chose the lower price? Only to find out that our choice wasn`t up to our expectations. Leaving us feeling disappointed, and costing us more in the long run.

This is why we should always put quality first over a low price.

The trouble with the caricature business, is that it doesn`t have a governing body to safegaurd clients. In my opinion we need a governing body to score artists on their ability, for the good of our clients, and for the good of caricaturists in the UK.
It`s your big day / your big event. Why take the chance on a low price over quality. When you can have peace of mind, when booking with Mickey Toones,that you`re booking with on of the best caricature artist in the UK.

If Mickey isn`t available to work at your event. He can recommend other caricaturists of high quality to you.

I was lucky enough to meet this awesome lady at an event in Manchester, and listen to her fantastic singing. Her name is Bianca Gerald. Everyone at the event loved her.
I also worked at this event. Bianca asked me if I would draw her a caricature, as she liked my work. I was only too happy to do this.

Alton Towers Today!

It`s back to the drawing board at Alton Towers today. I hope that the rain stays away. So I can get to draw me some caricatures, and earn some extra spending money for my Florida holiday. Drawing in the great outdoors can be hard going at this time of year.
We have to to try to stay warm. Got to keep the hands warm! It can also be windy. Oh how I need to feel that Florida Sun!!!

ISCA Convention

The 20th ISCA convention is taking place in November 2011 at the Tradewinds Island Grand Resort in St.Pete Beach Florida!

November sees me on my hols to Florida. I think of Florida as the worlds capital for caricature artist. There are so many Theme parks in Florida that provide caricaturists with work.
Over the years I`ve been offered to work in some of the bigger parks. Who knows maybe I will one day. But for now I`m more than happy to carry on drawing caricatures at the UK` s best theme park Alton Towers.

Whilst I`m in Florida The ISCA Caricature Convention will be taking place. It`s a fantastic convention, that caricature artists from all over the world will attend. I plan to go to the convention for a day, or two. It will be awesome to see some old friends / fellow caricature artists.

I had another good day at Alton Towers today. This lady was very pleased with her caricature. I`ll be taking a couple of days off from drawing. Tomorrow I`m off to Manchester to see The Horrible Crows in concert. I`ll be back in Manchester on Thursday to watch the fantastic Peter Kay.

I recently had my caricature drawn by Mickey at Alton Towers on the 12th September 2011 and it was fantastic! He is an excellent artist very professional and even though it does not take up too much time the quality is fantastic! You can have a single full colour caricature in 10-15 mins. It's also fasinating to watch him look at a person and their features and put them on to paper as a caricature! It's such great fun and I think everyone should have one! I was asked to work at a portrait Festival in Holland. I had a great time. It was great to meet up with some of my fellow caricaturist friends.We even made the news in Holland. I`m the fine looking gent with dark hair, and blue shirt.

Great Day at Alton Towers

Yesterday ended up being another good day for the caricature stand, at Alton Towers. I`m told there was over 20,000 plus people on the park. There was also a lot of celebrities on the park that had come for the concert.

Today should also be another good day, because a lot of people that came for the concert will stay for two days. In all it`s been a fantastic week so far, for the caricature stand.

Today I`ll be working with the talented Wayne Savage. I hope to take Sunday off when the boss Mick Hollinworth will be working his marker magic, along with Wayne Savage.

I think this is what sets us apart from other caricature artist. When you`re a theme park caricature artist, you draw most days.So this means that you become a more skilled artist.

Breast Cancer Awareness Event.

I recently had the pleasure of working at a Breast Cancer Awareness Event. At Manchester Airports Concorde Convention Centre. I did this for no fee. A donation was made to the charity for each caricature that i drew.

Well here i am, getting with it! Blogging! Does this mean that i`m cool now?

I best tell you a little about ones self.

Emmm let`s see now I`m a man. I`m 41 and a bit years old.

I like The good things in life Guinness, Football, Caricatures, Food, Fishing, Springsteen R loads of other stuff too.

I suppose that this blog thing is about me caricatures, and me sketching. So i`ll tell ya a little bit about me caricatures Big head, small body ! enough said!.............

I`m only joking dear fellow cool blogger.

I guess that i first got into drawing as a wee lad. I`ve always loved to draw for fun. I never thought that i would make a living out of my caricatures. However 5 years ago i got my lucky brake into the professional world of caricature art.

Fellow cool blogger, and caricature artist Mick Hollinworth gave me the chance of working for him at the number one UK theme park Alton Towers.

I can`t thank Mick enough for giving me the chance to work at Alton Towers. I also got to work alongside other great caricature artist, like Mike Giblin, and Nigel Cooke.

Well all this being cool, and blogging has worn me out. I`ll post some more soon!
